Money does not buy happiness, but giving away £2.7m can help

Posted in

They say that money does not buy happiness. Getting and having I agree with. But if you can use or give your money to help others, then this can bring happiness to them as well as to you. As I travel the world, I see how money can help others less fortunate than ourselves in many ways.

Visiting Our Lesotho School

Twelve of us arrived Tue 9th at Mokoallong High School to be greeted by almost 400 children singing and dancing.

Seeing the BT PlayPump in action was really amazing. They love their roundabout and their smiley faces show how happy they are as the spin around. Other children push each other to get to the tap to fill their bottles.

Later on we walked around the classrooms giving each child fruit, biscuits and sweets.

Opposite the school we visited an HIV care centre and listened to the amazing work they have been doing.

Pickle Jar

I love this story about the pickle jar......

The pickle jar as far back as I can remember sat on the floor beside the dresser in my parents' bedroom. When he got ready for bed, Dad would empty his pockets and toss his coins into the jar.

As a small boy I was always fascinated at the sounds the coins made as they were dropped into the jar. They landed with a merry jingle when the jar was almost empty. Then the tones gradually muted to a dull thud as the jar was filled.

You Need This Book ...: .. to Get What You Want

Posted in

I read a review on a new book called "You Need This Book ...: .. to Get What You Want" by Mark Palmer, Scott Solder

For myself, I follow these simple steps.
- write down WHAT you want
- write down WHY you want it
- write down WHEN you need to get it
- VISUALISE yourself having this
- establish what resources (people, tools, funds, knowledge) you need to help you
- work on getting those resources in place
- what path, steps or milestones you need to get there
- work on those steps one step at a time
- work, review, learn, enjoy, re-plan
DO, BE, HAVE !!

I thought this was an early April fool joke when I heard the M11 was closed due to pigs on the motorway.
