As I travel to Amalfi for a short break I always enjoy the view from the window of the Alps, especially on a clear day with a strong sun.

Amalfi coast

Had a relaxing week exploring the Amalfi coast - Amalfi, Positano and Capri. Lovely buildings and a good selection of people enjoying their local life or holiday. Also a chance to practise my Amalfi street photogaphy. Look my photos on Flickr and leave me a comment if you find a photo you like.

Chipperfield and Sarratt pub walk 2011

We normally meet up at The Fox & Hounds, Croxley then get a lift to the The Royal Oak, explore Chipperfield and Sarratt. We finish off at The Cock Inn for a curry. Normally around 20-30 people join in every year, some from as far away as Belgium.

East London Line reopens

After three years of work by Transport For London, a very old railway line reopens in London. Celebrations took place, including free travel on the day, balloons at the stations and a mass of travel fans admiring the new style carriages.

Inner Mongolia train now freed

I followed with interest the Shanghai Daily news about the train stuck in the snow in North China's Inner Mongolia Region a few days ago. The 1400 passengers and crew were trapped and had to be rescued.
